Position :

A group acquired several subsidiaries from another group. Integration was slow because of diverse corporate cultures. The new acquisitions had different business strengths to the original group companies.

Objective :

Bring the corporate cultures closer together and optimise best practise across the group.

Method :

  • Analyse organisation, financial results, operating efficiency, strengths and weaknesses
  • Devise a graphical group inter firm comparison
  • Visit each company to discuss their perceptions
  • Hold group meetings for managers of each discipline
  • Create a relaxed atmosphere to encourage integration
  • Act as modulator as best performance areas were  outlined by relevant managers
  • Create a schedule of key improvement areas for each company
  • Hold group meetings for general managers of each subsidiary
  • Act as modulator as each of the established key areas was discussed
  • Produce agreed corporate action plans
